My Name is Marion A. Böckmann.I was born in Yorkton and raised in Stockholm, Saskatchewan, Canada. My family and I later moved to Germany, After an apprenticeship as "Industriekauffrau" I did secretarial work for 19 years. I am married with 2 sons. In 1996 we moved to Dublin. For over 13 years my Hobby was silk painting. After having worked as a trainee textile artist in a silk painting studio for 3 years I decided to start oil painting again.

Now I am an assistant shop manager and I enjoy working with people.

My real passion lies with oil painting!

A couple of years ago I had a health scare. I knew I would be out of work for a couple of weeks. So I started to do oil paintings to take my mind off things. It was very therapeutic. The colors just came exploding out of me! I was in a different world while I was painting. It was a healing experience. It turned out there was no need to worry. But now there was no going back. Since then I never stopped painting. I love to paint flowers!

Painting is my meditation. When I paint I can completely switch off. New ideas start to grow like a  little seed. Sometimes it takes weeks to get it right. Then when it's ripe I know it's time to start. I get excited and impatient and cannot wait to fill the canvas. Full of anticipation I often get up early in the morning just to paint.

Currently I am taking art classes with Pervaneh Matthews and I love it!

I have a lot to learn! And I am enjoying every minute of the journey!
