My Name is Marion A. Böckmann. I was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada. When I was 12 Years old my Family and I moved to Germany.
After an apprenticeship as Industriekauffrau I did secretarial work and translations for 19 years.
In 1996 I moved to Dublin with my husband and 2 sons.
For over 13 years my Hobby was silk painting. After having worked as a trainee textile artist in a silk painting studio for 3 years, I decided to start oil painting again.
From 2008 to 2012 I took art classes with Pervaneh Matthews.
In 2003 I started working in Retail and enjoyed being a shop manager and working with people.
I loved being creative and making new displays and decorating the windows with new stock!
My real passion lies with oil painting!
In 2008 I had a health scare. I knew I would be out of work for a couple of weeks.
So I started to do oil paintings to take my mind off things. It turned out there was no need to worry.
But now there was no going back. Since then I have never stopped painting.
I love to paint flowers.
In October 2012 I took a part-time course in oil painting in IADT.
In Spring 2013 I took classes with Louise Neiland in her Redwood Studio in Dun Laoghaire.
Now that I am living back in Germany I have set up my new studio and I paint, paint, paint!
I have a lot to learn! And I am enjoying every minute of the journey!
